In Port Charlotte, there is the Islay Natural History Trust’s visitor centre and also the Museum of Islay Life, while over at Loch Gruinart, RSPB has a visitor centre and hide. They also have a further reserve at Kinnabus on the Oa near Port Ellen.

Pony trekking is available at Rockside Farm, close to Kilchoman House Cottages, or you can go to Ballivicar at Port Ellen.

The Machrie Golf course, a 18 hole links course is also over at Port Ellen, and a very challenging round awaits you there! There are several inland lochs, to test your patience should fly fishing be your hobby. For clay pigeon enthusiasts, The Gearach awaits your call!
